How come the subject line of individual posts isn't visible once the message has been posted? Is it just me who has that problem? Since noticing it I've stopped giving my posts a subject title. Why bother, if no one can see it?

Oh, and another little thing: when you edit a post of yours, sometimes the line "Edited by so-and-so etc" shows up at the bottom of the newly edited post, sometimes not. How come?

Hi dear, I noticed that, too, and having no explanation to offer, I can just make a guess: my German movie forum uses the exactly same software as this one and has the same strange behavior as regards this "edited-by" thing, so it might be a bug of this software (there are some others we already found).

Same matter with the individual subject line, although this may be a feature of the admin's setting, I still haven't figured it out myself.

Let's see if Marcus is wiser than me and knows how to deal with this, so I might shamelessly profit from his answer Wink and change it on my German board - although nobody complained because with the previous version of this software there was no possibility of individual subject lines at all, so nobody as yet missed this feature, but of course us imdb-wise users on this board may.

No idea on either of those points. I know it happens, and as far as i know it's just the way the board template is written - and i can't edit the template html because of the software.

I never post subjects in my replies.

Anyone figured this out yet? There has to be some logic to it... some kind of formula - computers can't act chaotically (although I suppose it could be programmed to respond randomly, but what's the point in that?)
It doesn't seem to be a simple character-change count...

Indeed they can't, but I don't think it has anything to do with your or my computer, but with the software of this forum, see my post above. We discussed this on my German forum a few times, but to no avail, nobody has found the smallest indication that it would make sense to build any hypotheses on.
