The Real Housewives of New York City
Here in the States, Bravo has done a reality series (influenced by the hit show, Desparate Housewives) about affluent housewives in Orange County, Atlanta and NYC. I've never seen the shows since I really don't like Desparate Housewives . YEsterday, however, I was cooking a lot for Thanksgiving and in between waiting for things to bake, I did see several episodes of The REal Housewives of NYC since Bravo was running a marathon.

I know Fed went off on the movie Sex and the CIty (my husband used to call the tv series, Sluts in the City); God knows what he would say about this series. The women in SATC are the pinnacle of class compared to these status-driven yet hopelessly vulgar harpies.

I have to say the women in NYC were the worst. At least, the housewives in Atlanta and Orange County are likeably tacky and seem constantly in awe of their own wealth like real-life Cinderellas. The ones in NYC all seem in the throes of the most ruthless narcissism and can never get enough. They're all 'close friends' who treat each other hatefully.

Despite their money, these are all obviously socialite wannabes and as my husband said, who is going to invite cameras into their house to record their every move except exhibitionists or the Osbournes?

I wouldn't want to be within a hundred yards of these women. I've had simple women, I've had glamorous women - I went back to simple women.

Well, I hope they're happy. More likely they're all undergoing therapy.

well, the real housewives do look hotter than those on SATC. 8)

yet all 5 of them laso have that bunny boiler look in their eye. :shock:


How do women get like that? Do their mums sit them down aged 8 and tell them the way to make a life for themselves is by spreading their legs for affluent men?
